The Art of Writing Well.

It seems that even thou I have alot of thoughts and opinions I’m finding it hard to write blog posts.  I hold this to the fact that when I go to write a post I have no idea how to form what I want to say. Even this post I have already rewritten around 5 times.

Despite getting A and B+’s in all my english classes (highschool and college) I have never been a strong writer (often leaving reports to the last minute and just writing non stop).  I’m not a strong and confident writer.  Its probably becuase I dont really know how to write, just how to ramble (as I am doing now).

I found it very helpful when I came across this post by Sonia Simone.  In this post she outlines her 5 secerets from being an editior to strong writing.  It’s inspired me to imporve my writting skills, therefore increasing my ability to write about what I want.

So expect in the future to see some strong better writing on my part, and if you need help I recomend checking out the post.

Wanted to throw more unsolicted advice at you:

    1. Stephen King wrote a book on writing called “On Writing” – and it’s one I the best books i’ve ever read

    2. When I write, I write like I am talking…to my wife, or a colleague, or someone with a differing opinion. I just type what I would say and then clean up the grammar (sometimes)

And I got solicited for a book based on that. I’m no Shakespere, but “dumbing it down” seems to work for me.

I happen to think you are a fine writer, btw.

    Josh
